Habits for New Age part 2 by Jay Shetty

In this blog I am going to talk about how to break an old habit. Habits can last for a lifetime. The thing which made you come here won’t be enough to go to the next level. Letting go is hard but holding it is harder.

Choose a habit which you want to leave. Mine is letting go of Negative thinking. It takes 30-140 days to let go of an old habit.

  1. Remove the object of detachment from your senses. It means for example if you want to eat less chocolates then don’t have chocolates from your house.
  2. Why? You need to have a why you need to leave this habit. I have told about it in the last blog.
  3. Do research for why it is a good thing of leaving that habit. For me, the negative thinking it is that thinks affects you mindset. It doesn’t help you achieve success. If you want to reduce eating chocolates, the research will say that eating too much sugar may cause diabetics or sometimes lead to cancer.
  4. Reward. This means for me the reward for stopping negative thinking is I will have positive mindset which may help me achieve success.
  5. Train and swap an habit you want to leave. For example if you want to eat chocolates, eat chocolates which is made of monk fruit which is available in USA and other countries.
