What is gratitude?
Gratitude means being grateful for all the things you have in your life. In this world, where we all want more and we feel we don’t have anything or we want more. Definitely, we have to desire to have more. But that doesn’t mean we must feel greedy or unhappy about what we have. We must be happy with what we have and aspire to get more not only in material abundance but also in all other aspects of personal life, in relationships and in spirituality.
“One person was sad that he didn’t have shoes but he realized how gifted he was until he saw a man with no legs” -Unknown.
It improves psychological health.

Gratitude reduces a multitude of toxic emotions, ranging from envy and resentment to frustration and regret. Robert A. Emmons, Ph.D., a leading gratitude researcher, has conducted multiple studies on the link between gratitude and well-being. His research confirms that gratitude effectively increases happiness and reduces depression.
Rather than becoming resentful toward people who have more money or better jobs – which is a major factor in reduced self-esteem- grateful people are able to appreciate other people’s accomplishments.
We all have the ability and opportunity to cultivate gratitude. Simply take a few moments to focus on all that you have – rather than complain about all the things you think you deserve. Developing an “attitude of gratitude” is one of the simplest ways to improve your satisfaction with life.
How do you practice gratitude:-
The best way to practice gratitude is having a gratitude journal.

What is gratitude journal?
A gratitude journal means being grateful for the life’s simple gifts.
We live in a world, in which millions of people are not getting food. But if you are reading this you probably have food to eat daily. There are thousands of people who like without shelter. But you have a house to live in. It may not be that you are living in a dream house or a big house you desire but still you have a house to live- in.
We can say many examples like this.
So now I would like request you to take a few minutes to write the simple gifts of your life in a paper.
It may be as simple as having hands or legs.
But write your own gratitude list.
I believe you finished writing it.
From now onwards, start reading the list 3-4 times a day.
It will help you to be happy and satisfied with what you have and not be sad or greedy.
“Be grateful is being happy what you have and not complain what you do not have.”
